Just Because Your Opinion Differs Does Not Give You the Right to Bully Your Fellow Members and Trash the Blog Site

Some of you "know" me and some of you don't. If you know me, you know that I cannot stand to see someone take a verbal beating for reasons that were uncalled for, especially when the accuser is out of touch with reality and/or is accustomed to bullying people with their words simply because they disapprove of their victim's opinion and they are hell bent on having the last word - no matter what.

We all know the bully blogger, right? The bully is the one who bolds words or uses caps, insults other posters, criticizes them, and belittles them. They are often erratic in their behavior -- that is, perfectly charming until crossed by someone posting an opinion that is at odds with their own, at which point they explode. They then attack you for each and every opinion and do it with cutting words, bolded text, and for backup, name throw for grandiose sake. They are constantly picking fights, trying to humiliate people, and wreaking havoc wherever they tread. Pathetic, isn’t it?

For that reason, I have come to the Soap Box to voice my thoughts on the bullshit that occurred on Reality Chatter with regard the "George Zimmerman" case. As a member of Reality Chatter and a former daily poster on the "GZ" thread until mid-summer last year, I can state without hesitation that the reason I ceased commenting on the RC Blog was because of very specific members who were allowed to repeatedly bully other members for voicing their opinion in the GZ case. I systematicallly watched as ArtTart and DebfrmHell bullied the other members and when the victim would stand behind their opinion or simply ignored them, or when they were losing the debate as was in most cases, they would alert the Mods which would result in the thread being shut down leaving the members feeling like a child being sent to stand in the corner on time out.

With that in mind, I want to borrow a post recently made by ArtTart on Reality Chatter in attacking one of the owners, FystyAngel, in a failed attempt to justify her bullying tactics on other members:

I am not interested in the bashing of the defendant in this case, those that enjoy that can have a field day here and make fun of GZ and his family all day long. . . it is just being petty and small.

Whether GZ is green or yellow, fat or skinny has no evidentiary value to the case, it is just bashing the defendant, it isn't serious blogging for those interested in the facts in the case, like it or not,GZ is entitled to a fair trial, he has only been convicted by some blogger's , many here, though he hasn't even had his trial. I am not interested in reading trash making fun of a defendant, there are too many blogs with higher standards that don't allow it, attorney's weigh in on the legal issues so there are few disagreements, opinions not supported by facts or reality aren't popular or usually tolerated when other opinions can be supported by facts, but hey, those that want to continue to make fun of GZ here, go ahead. You can all bash together since everyone else has left.

Now, most won't see the hypocrysy in this unless you are aware of the fact that ArtTart and DebfrmHell are members of the Conservative Tree House (CTH) and post there regularly. For those who are not familiar with the CTH it is a blog where its owner and members claim to be a ragtag bunch of conservative misfits who have joined together to further the agenda for their cause (whatever that may be) - one of the most racist blog sites on the world wide web. Yep, go check out the GZ threads located on the CTH, and you will find them posting right along with the other treepers. The owner of CTH, Mark Ivor Bradman, aka SundanceCracker use to work as a manager in the supermarket chain Publix but supposedly retired from there several years ago. According to The Grio, he has an “unhealthy obsession with George Zimmerman, and is overcome with racial paranoia." The CTH and its members have attempted to analyze all the available evidence in this case; however, conspiracy theories run rampant on their site. Additionally, when one visits the site and peruses the comments by the members there, it’s easy to see that they are what one would consider racists. It is their deep hatred of African-Americans that seems to be at the root of this entire issue. There are comments littered throughout the site discussing Trayvon Martin, and Benjamin Crump, Natalie Jackson and Daryl Parks, all Martin Family attorneys as well as racially charged comments and conspiracy theories related to witness #8, Trayvon's girlfriend whom he was on the phone with immediately before he was murdered. Trayvon’s family has not been free from their discussion either. It appears that the posters at the CTH are frightened and/or intimidated by an educated African-American person. In addition to the prejudicial comments on the site, CTH has “outed” witness #9, who, as you will recall, is the cousin who claims that she was sexually assaulted beginning at the age of six by Zimmerman and continuing for ten years. They have posted photos of her, her husband, and her child. They have made disparaging remarks about her, and actually downplayed the sexual abuse that she suffered at the hands of her cousin for all those years. It seems they are of the mentality that it must have been her fault that Zimmerman took advantage of her. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] Now do you see what is hypocritical about ArtTart's above statement? Coming from a member of the CTH? A site that has doxed the wrong teenage girl as being DeeDee? The ones that mimic african american speak and show photos of african american lynchings? Do you now understand why they were bullying the other members of the RC Trayvon Martin thread? Of course, it was purposely concocted so the thread would be closed down by its owners - or at least locked down more often than not thereby ceasing the members' ability to seek justice for Trayvon Martin by openly discussing the case and their opinions.

You see, one of ArtTart's MO's is to throw names out there. You know the type, the person that when pulled over, immediately tells the officer that she "knows the police of chief" or "has friends in high places" trying to intimidate the officer's decision making abilities. This is a familiar tactic of ArtTart's - she uses a former Hinky Meter member who was a friend of most of ours, KZ, as her back-up and who just happens to be the GZ thread Mod, being sure to toss all kinds of alcolades in KZ's direction so as to hopefully win her approval of using her "name" in her bullying rants. She refers to the Hinky Meter when she has successfully managed to get a thread shut down and is sure to remind the RC Mods and Owners of what a terrible bunch the other HM members were and why Val shut down her blog as a result. This is her MO and she uses it everytime - go back and read some of her comments - but here is her most recent contained in her telling off FystyAngel:

Though there are many great member's here, most have already left for various reasons going to webslueths or other sites, that's unfortunate, there were lots of blogger's here at one time from the hinky meter but most have disbursed and moved on to other sites. There is a place for everyone interested in blogging, the standard that is expected from the blogger is usually what determines where a blogger decides to blog and the level of expectations site owners have of it blogger's determines the quality of the contributions made.

Pretty funny when you know this is coming from a CTH member don't you think? Notice the name slinging? Notice she is blaming the fact that people have left RC on the owners of RC and not as a result of having grown tired of ArtTart's bullying? Many of us were a part of the 180+ members who came to RC from the Hinky Meter one morning. RC received us with open arms, allowing us to set up our own threads, and trying to accommodate us in every way they could on such an unexpected event. It was almost as the Hinky Meter had never shut down - and then ArtTart found us - and then the appointment of KZ and the first grade time outs commenced.

So, if you have happen upon my rant, and you are a member of RC, do me a favor will you? Go send a PM to FystyAngel and let her know that you now understand what were the real motives behind the RC bullies, and thank her for finally standing up to the conduct of ArtTart. Let her know that bullying behavior by anyone is not acceptable and that the whole intent of a blog such as RC is to support justice for child victims, which Trayvon was, and to express opinions on the case without fear of ridicule or chastising by another member or members. It's pretty ironic that ArtTart and DebfrmHell expected to be treated with open arms when their stance, let alone the bullying, was anything but seeking justice for the minor who lost his life on 2/26/12. Ahhhh, but that was their game.

To ArtTart and/or DebfrmHell, I have this to say: But by all means, keep making fools of yourselves. Keep attacking people online and making enemies. It’s such a productive way to spend your time, ya know? But… the award still goes to ArtTart. So, congratulations, ArtTart! You’ve just won our most psychotic comment award! Good for you! You must be so proud.

But really, in all seriousness, we hope that RC continues to be successful, and that these jerks are the ones held accountable for their actions. Open the GZ thread back up - and rename it the "Trayvon Martin" thread - OWN IT - it is what you stand for. And if people (and RC) can’t see by now how deranged and dangerous these treepers are, then there is no point in posting this stuff anymore. It’s just ridiculous.

Thru the years of my being on blogs I found that these type usually clone themselves and come back and end up bullying all over again because they are so hateful.

First few days i came back there via another account or internet proxy .. or such ...

CN. I really liked your post, because I wanted justice for 17yr old, I was tired of hearing that I didn't want Geroge to have a fair trial. I'm not sitting on a jury so I can choose to believe George word or not and I don't believe his many story. I also got tired of being lock out of a tread because I don't agree with someone else. I have never attack a poster for what they believe, yet I still fell that I should be able to voice another opinion. I have not posted at RG in quit awhile, yet I was very grateful for them for letting us into there blog

If so, in that case .. Why wouldn't they let us into their blog ... -- they gained many new users, which is generally an idea for forums / blogs -- to gain good new users.

Very interesting. I must admit that I have been ignorant of the fact that such groups of bloggers exist. My first thought was, "Is the FBI aware of these weirdos?" What happened to make them this way? I also have to wonder if maybe the state of Virginia should start looking over those "over 30,000" cases Sr oversaw? And how can one be a magistrate for a state Supreme Court and not even be a lawyer? Amazing

I happen to believe, if they can bully on a blog or forum, they are bullies in real life...

Then I believe those who believe they remain anonymous behind a computer monitor, bring out their alter ego..

I've never understood why someone would be bullied for a difference in opinion. This is what makes the world go round...anyone is entitled to their own perceptions but never bully someone who has that differing of opinions.

I stay clear of folks like this. If I don't want to have anything to do with this type of mentality in my real life, I certainly wouldn't put up with it on a forum...
