Started followingthis case as well. The victim bashing has begun. even thoug im not shocked by what im seeing it hurts my soul. College kids get wasted and high everyday but if you arent the right shade it becomes a death sentence thats justifiable. This case is already getting the trayvon martin treatment.

Thanks Febbie for detailing the case and keeping the conversation going. Looking forward to posting about the coming trial. See what is going to happen. I think charging M2 is a mistake and will bite the State's case as overcharging has done before such as the Boot Camp death in Florida a few years ago.

Hi everyone - sorry to be such a hermit and not posting - I am telling you, Zimmerman case really blew it for me and I am having a hard time getting back "into" it. I've been tweeting but that is about it and my tweets are political - something I don't dare bring here to the forum. HA I am going to try and get into these new cases, but dammit, something has to happen in them first. Ha.
I've opened up a Theodore Wafer thread for following this 2nd degree murder case. I hope this guy doesn't get off... I just don't have faith anymore in these SYG cases. Seems it comes down to what did the defendant "feel" at the moment he pulled the trigger - not right. Anyhow....

Wafer shot her through a screen door with a shot gun in the face. A shot gun has a safety or hammer ( if I remember right), so the dude would have to take the time to release the safety or draw back the hammer before shooting. It was no accident if he took the time to prepare the gun in my IMO.
I don't see this state handling this case as FL did.
Will enjoying discussing this case with all of you Warriors.

Remember Sam this state is not FL. A lot of the other states have a total different SYG...sams wrote:Thanks Febbie for detailing the case and keeping the conversation going. I could be wrong, but I think I read that Michigan doesn't have a SYG law.Febbie wrote:Remember Sam this state is not FL. Is Wafer out on bail? I read he was but not sure. I understand that the Michigan State Police are the best.

Re: Renisha McBride Discussion #1
Okay, all changed to the victim's name. We need to make a decision - sometimes we have named the category after the defendant and others we have named after the victim. How do you all prefer it? For future = Victim's name or Defendant's?
