Zinah Jennings, the mother of, Amir Jennings, who has been missing since November, 2011, attends her pre-trial hearing Monday at the Richland County courthouse. Jennings, is charged with unlawful conduct toward a child, she is weeks away from giving birth to her second child. Her defense attorney has filed a motion to suppress search warrant returns and statements she made to police but the prosecution, naturally, opposes.

Jennings smiled once when she saw her mother, Jocelyn Jennings, and other family members in the front row. She was allowed time to chat with them before the hearing. However, Jennings sat with her head down once court proceedings began.

McMahon is listening to arguments over motions filed by the Jennings’ defense attorney, Hemphill Pride II. Pride asked the judge to suppress statements Jennings gave investigators as they searched for her son, who has not been seen since around Thanksgiving. Pride also has asked for the search warrants to be tossed, and he wants the judge to order that the trial cannot be televised.

Knox ruled that Jennings’s statements to investigators can be used in her trial. That trial will be later in the summer.

Aliayah Lunsford would have been 4 yesterday, the case continues

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Today is the 311th day since Aliayah Lunsford has been missing, but yesterday would have been her 4th birthday! Aliayah went missing on 24 September 2011.

Her mother, Lena Lunsford who is currently in prison for selling the family food cards, was sent to prison on 28 June 2012 for 8 months. She also has to pay restitution to the U.S. Department of Agriculture Food & Nutrition Service, plus one year probation after her prison time. Lunsford is divorcing her husband Ralph and before going to prison was living with her mother.

The FBI has said that the case will continue and they are looking for information.

Sierra LaMar Update: Plea Hearing for Suspect Tomorrow--July 31st

Sierra LaMar still hasn't been located, but the suspect in her abduction and presumed murder is set to attend a plea hearing tomorrow. Antolin Garcia-Torres will be at the Hall of Justice in San Jose at around 9:30 a.m., to enter his plea of 'guilty' or 'not guilty.' However, he has had the opportunity to enter a plea before and he flat-out refused. He has been uncooperative with the investigation thus far, and is refusing to be cooperative during the proceedings of the judicial process.

Father Of Suspect In Sierra LaMar Case Faces Sexual Assault Charges

The father of the man charged in the disappearance of Morgan Hill teen Sierra LaMar has been ordered to stand trial on multiple sexual assault charges.

An investigator with the Santa Clara County Sexual Crimes Unit told KCBS that a judge ordered 51-year-old Genaro Garcia Fernandez to stand trial on charges he molested his daughter over a nine-year period.

Garcia Fernandez was taken into custody last July after his daughter came forward and said she was molested numerous times, starting in 1990 when she was five-years-old.

Long-missing child's mom admits parole violations

--snipped--

The mother of a missing 2-year-old boy saluted reporters and photographers in court Wednesday with her middle finger before pleading guilty to six counts of violating probation.

But the plea agreement by Tanisha Edwards, 36, did nothing to solve the mystery of what happened to "Baby Dwight," who hasn't been seen alive since April 2010.

Edwards, who has been in jail since March, has told authorities conflicting and often nonsensical stories about what happened to her baby.

Jodi Arias is charged with shooting and stabbing her ex-boyfriend to death in his Mesa, Arizona, home in 2008. Prosecutors say the 31-year-old went to Travis Alexander's home, shot him in the face, stabbed him 27 times and slit his throat from ear to ear.

-snipped again-
Police say they found a camera in Travis' washing machine that had two sets of photos: a series of nude shots of Jodi and Travis together, and photos of a bloody Travis as he reportedly lay dying.

This is going to be an interesting trial.

CB - Sadly, I wasn't surprised. Aliahna Lemmon's murder has been the hardest case I have ever followed. I cried every time I read about the abuse this little girl suffered. Kristina Kennedy-Maroney is a member of this sick twisted group that we posted about after Aliahna was murdered. I fear Aliahna never had a chance as well as many other children that have lived or still live amongst these monsters! I can only hope these charges are a result of an investigation into this family. I have a vision Aliahna is an angel above and she is trying to protect the children in her family!

10 year-old facing charges in infant's death

A 10-year-old girl is officially facing charges for allegedly killing 3-month-old Brooklyn Foss-Greenaway in July.

HLN affiliate WGME in Portland, Maine, reports the 10-year-old’s mother was babysitting Brooklyn when the baby died.

This story does not contain the girl's name because HLN’s policy is to not identify minors who are accused of crimes.

Brooklyn’s mother says the girl drugged and suffocated her baby, and the toxicologist found the same attention-deficit medication in her baby’s body and the suspect’s system.

The 10-year-old suspect was charged with juvenile reckless or criminally negligent manslaughter last week.
