Adriaunna Horton still missing: Bobby Bourne Jr.charged with kidnapping

Bobby Bourne Jr., 34, is charged with kidnapping 12-year-old Adriaunna Horton. Police say the man from Lockwood was last seen with the girl in a park Monday.

More than 350 search and rescue police and volunteers fanned out around Golden City to search for Adriaunna.

Adriaunna, her sister, and a couple friends went to Hazel Park on Monday afternoon.  It was the first day of school and the young girls were excited to play in their neighborhood.  Adriaunna's 8-year-old sister said Bourne drove up to the girls three times while they were playing in the park.

Barton County 911 received a call from Adriaunna's father around 5:30 p.m. saying she was missing. After 6:30 that night, police found Bourne, took him into custody, and impounded his car. They did not see Horton.

On August 19, 2013, at approximately 5:30 p.m., officers with the Barton County Sheriff's Office responded to the reported disappearance of Adrianna M. Horton, age 12, of Golden City, Missouri.  She was last seen getting into a vehicle near Hazel Park in Golden City.  The reported vehicle was later stopped by a Barton County officer and the driver was detained for questioning.

On August 20, 2013, after an investigation by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Southwest Missouri Major Case Squad, a charge of kidnapping was filed against Bobby D. Bourne, Jr., age 34, Lamar, Missouri, for the disappearance of Horton.  Bourne is being held in the Barton County Jail on a bond of one million dollars.  The investigation is ongoing.

Mo. Man Charged With Kidnapping as Search Resumes for Girl

Adriaunna's father, James Horton, told ABC News affiliate KODE-TV that the suspect is known to his family.

"He worked for me last summer on a job, a construction job. He was a neighbor. He lived less than a block behind us for a year," Horton said.

On Tuesday, searchers used horses, all-terrain vehicles, dogs and a patrol helicopter to scour the small town. The search is expected to continue today.

"We are going to exhaust every lead that comes in," said Troop D Public Information Officer Sgt. Jason Pace of the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

Adriaunna was wearing a pink T-shirt with hearts on it when she disappeared at Hazel Park about a half a block away from home. She was at the park with her sister and friends celebrating the end of her first day of the new school year. That's when witnesses reported seeing Adriaunna get into an SUV.

Horton said the driver of the SUV was asking children at the park for help.

"He was whining he couldn't find his daughter. He had a missing child. He asked the girls in the park to help him," Horton said. "My oldest daughter walked up to his vehicle -- that's when she was abducted."
