Re: Brett T. Seacat
Jurors will continue tomorrow to bring in a verdict.
I agree his own stupid mistakes will convict him, he thinks he is above the law.

I don't think that this state has the dp, but I'm sure he will get LWOP for 1st degree.

It didn't come as any surprise to me, and from the looks of him, I don't think it came as a surprise to him either.
Did he really expect to walk away from this murder? Now his children are orphans. This is terrible and could all have been avoided.
He gets 50 years (hard years), he'll be eligible at the age of 85, so I guess it's a life sentence.

It couldn't have happened to a more deserving guy. May he rot away, never heard from again.

Seacat did not cringe when they read the guilty verdict...he knew the game he played was up, because he was a cop he would not be caught. Finally there is justice for the wife and the children that they can peacefully rest.

Yep, saw no reaction as verdicts were read..I did hear some reporters saying after the Judge addressed Seacat, he broke down..I didn't get to see that..
Now he left his two boys parentless...he should have just dealt with the divorce instead of resorting to murdering the mother of his children.
He will rot in prison, then rot in hell...
There is still the aggravating phase to get through, heard the State wants 50 years hard labor before he's even eligible for parole..He might just get that..
Justice has been served..
I certainly hope this is the year for justice for all victims..

Re: Brett T. Seacat
Brett Seacat receives the maximum sentencing allowed by Kansas law, life for murder one plus several other charges including arson and reckless endangerment of two children, with possibility of parole after thirty-one years plus several months. All sentences to run consecutively.
