LAPD chief concerned if officer's fatal shooting unarmed man was 'justified'

The fatal shooting of an unarmed man this week by Los Angeles police is drawing controversy after the police chief quickly questioned whether the killing was justified.

"Any time an unarmed person is shot by a Los Angeles police officer, it takes extraordinary circumstances to justify that, and I have not seen those extraordinary circumstances at this point," Police Chief Charlie Beck said Wednesday.

Saw the above and went "whoa" Like I have said before there is rogues in every profession and/or group But within the "blue" gang it is easy to coverup. But today with cell phones it is harder to coverup. These rogues put a bad name to their group. People start to believe all of them are bad. Not true, the good ones don't like them whatsoever There needs to be an independent group who looks into this, as with any group

Hi folks....I am still around. Been crazy busy these last few weeks. Been helping out an injured friend almost every day. Got the kids off to NY for the summer....now I can breathe...lolol

Have a great vacation, Chickenbutt! I won't be around too much in the next couple of weeks either. Headed to Texas and New Mexico to see family and attend a conference. Might be able to pop in if I get somewhere with wifi though.

As you know another incident happened and I have been watching to see what is happening. I do not agree the way the officer was acting, but after finding out it dealt with two dramatic incidents before this, I wonder why he answered the call. He's supervisor should have had him in a decompression time, IMO. Also the "white" women you started the fight, why is she not charged. I am getting tired of people clomping everyone in the same mold. Not all whites are racists, not all blacks are thugs, and not all cops a mega-maniacs.

Hi - Just checking in. Once again, I am so consumed with my off line life that I am not up to speed on the cases that are active.

I've heard a few times from CB while she travels about the country - she and her hubby are having a great time - but I will be glad when she gets home.

Any new cases out there that we should be following?

I'm waiting for info on Baltimore, but the DA is not releasing anything. And MA vs GZ is scheduled for 6/23. Texas Pool Party is so confusing I no idea how to follow or even if its worth it.

Hi guys....am finally back from vacation and back online. When we returned from vacation, we found our internet provider up and went *poof*......so we have been without internet until today. I see not much has changed since I have been away. Missed you while I was gone.

Anthony was found not guilty of the first degree murder of her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee Anthony, in 2011.

First Coast High graduate and Florida State freshman quarterback De’Andre Johnson has been charged with misdemeanor battery as a result of an altercation last week in a Tallahassee bar in which he is alleged to have punched a 21-year-old woman in the face.
And he will be represented by high-profile lawyer Jose Baez of Miami, a Florida State graduate who represented Casey Anthony in her 2011 murder trial
