Dear Travis,

You do not know me. We have never met. I am no one of any importance and , yet, I believe that you would think otherwise. I have read your Blogs, visited your My Space, and have spent several weeks getting to know you through texts, your writings, and the many Facebook pages dedicated to you. I have come to know you, the man, through a plethora of media information. I have "Google(d)" you, "Bling(ed)" you, and surfed the internet searching for any tid-bit of information that could be obtained about you. In a way, I guess one could say that I have been educating myself about you, Travis, and getting to know you.

"Why me?" you may ask? In truth, I believe you to be a man of class. Distinguished. Refined. Educated. I believe you to be an individual who is compassionate about life. One who demonstrates genuine concern for his fellow human beings. A man who makes personal sacrifices so that others may benefit and succeed. A man who would lay down his life to save another. An admirable gentleman dedicated to his beliefs.

Ok all of that is fine. Let's kill off JA and we can all rest and sleep with our doors unlocked. IMO opinion this thinking is pay back and vengeful. It will not solve the big picture. So you ask what is the big picture? It is the fact that this person is a product of something. God did not put JA on this earth to walk around slitting people's throats. There is a perfect storm at the end but a lot of brewing before hand that people noticed but did nothing to help. We just IMO drove this horse into the ground. Now we want to put a bullet in its head and kick it in a hole and say all is well.

Well, I don't really look at it as pay back per say. I have no ties to this horrific tragedy but if someone did this to someone you knew and loved wouldn't you want them to pay? Don't you think she should be held accountable for what she did to him? I would be happy with LWOP. To me from looking at this case and the evidence etc.. I don't believe Jodi has normal human emotions nor do I believe she could be released into this world and function. This is all JMHO. Whatever it is that you believe caused Jodi to be this way, well let me ask you this: What if those same or similar elements were present again in her future (and she was free) then what? Are you saying she now has the tools to deal with her horrific behavior or are you just blaming the victim? I have one more question for you: IIRC you are a male, if so, than lets say a woman treated you the way Jodi is alleging Travis treated her. Would you handle it the same way Jodi did? and for what because she was hit with a wooden spoon? Her father was an ass? I have a really hard time having compassion for someone who kills someone 3 ways over. It was brutal, cold and premeditated. All JMO.

Here is what I would do with JA. It is obvious that our shrinks with the PHD's are not much help. I just can't see the State's witness whatever her name was full of compassion trying to help anyone. She seemed like a cold semi informed person that was too busy to really dig in and solve any problems.
Back to JA. She is very smart with good communication skills. I would give her 20 years with no parole, spare her life only if she agrees to help the mentaly ill inmates. Have more information available to parents as to beginning signs, help lines and such.
Let her run a in-house program. If she screws up, put a needle in her arm, shot her in the head, hang her until her head pops off but try to utilize her valuable information before we waste her. I am sure JA would redeem herself at this point of time. Do I think she would kill again? Not a chance, she learned allot about herself and the pitfalls of growing up already. Does she need meds? First I would give her a brain scan to see if that looked 'normal'.

All that sounds good gpw, but would I want her "educating" my family members? Not a chance. Do I think she would reoffend....I believe it is possible.
I don't want her tortured, drawn and quartered, etc. I want her to have what ever other convicted (if she is convicted) criminal has. If it be judged she gets death, then so be it.....if it is LWOP, then that's what she does.
20 years, imo, is not nearly long enough for her alleged crimes. But again, the jury is the final tryer of fact.

I would mind no matter what my family's issues were. In fact, I think a mentally ill person would be more at risk for the "ideology" of JA.

Some other families may not care as they may have written off their mentally ill or criminal family members.

What "valuable information" does she have that should be utilized? And "we" are not "wasting" her. She did that to herself, all by herself. Her actions alone put her in this position.

Seriously? She had a 9 mm gun and two knives in her 2nd rental car when she was arrested. I firmly believe she definitely would kill again. She hasn't shown one ounce of remorse for killing Travis, but rather appears to be enjoying killing him all over again by demolishing his reputation with nothing but lies. If she were going to redeem herself, why is she still lying about everything to everyone? Why is she not taking responsibility and showing remorse for her actions? Because she doesn't feel the same human emotions most of us feel. She doesn't have a bone of compassion in her body. She's incapable of caring about anyone but herself. I think the only thing she's learned is how she can reduce the risk of getting caught if she kills again.

From what I understand about personality disorders (which isn't much), I don't believe these conditions are treatable, with medicine or any kind of treatment.

You say all these things that are lacking in JA. I do not dispute any of it. She is a perfect example so that is why she could be so valuable.
Let's say you have a child that is showing some of these signals. My brotherin law is married to one. He lives in fear of his life.
Your child most likely is not going to improve.
You need information. Where better to get it from someone who studdied a known nut case.
The jails are full of people with issues. They get out someday. Why not try to help them. You need a willing person with the issues to help. You can go to school and earn all the credits under the sun but until you actually study with a certified crazy person, that will be where the tire meets the road, cut the chase and get to the core.

There was a program on TV. About Lifers. I believe it was in male prison, but can't be too sure on that now, as it was quite some time ago.

So some of those Lifers that were doing LIFE for horrible murder or more than one, were interviewed and they showed documentary about their lives in prison.

Some of them got married while in prison, had kids. Ran various programs and activities for inmates even etc

What I don't understand is that I know Jodi can sell her drawings before she is convicted of the murder, but why isn't the proceeds going towards her defense bill? That has nothing to do with her guilt or innocense. I'm surprised that the state of Arizona isn't trying to take those profits and put them toward Nurmi's fees.

I think I understand what you are saying, but I don't think it's possible to help them. From what I understand, their brains are not wired the same as most, and there's nothing that can be done to rewire it "properly". Get her to help personally by "consulting" with her/studying her? How would that help, when she's a pathological liar who's not even aware that she's not normal? Psychologists and psychiatrists have studied these kinds of disorders for years and years.

Would studying the brain of someone like Jodi help the psych field in understanding these kinds of disorders? Maybe, maybe not. Even if it could help, I hardly think she'd donate her brain to science. But then again, she's so narcissistic and thinks she's as smart as Einstein, so who knows; she just might!

Well, I'm not a psychologist, but why does it have to be one or the other? She was diagnosed by a professional with BPD. I'm calling her a narcissist, pathological liar, and obsession stalker based on my observations of her behaviors, not based on any test scores. Purely subjective on my part. I think she is all of these.

Great question, Gizmo! I know ebay stopped selling her stuff there, but she has her own website to sell stuff. Maybe the state is trying to go after these profits and we just don't know about it? I hope so!
