Jodi Arias #4

HLN says that she has seen Martinez, Flores, Travis's sister and brother enter the courtroom. She also saw the Mit Spec carrying civilian clothes. Beth K asked the mit spec if there was a hearing, she said she didn't think so. Beth K also said that she went to the jail and was told Jodi wasn't there. Two Sheriff dept employees were there in the courtroom. One being the POI.

Update: They are now leaving the courtroom, Steven, Samantha and JM, and victim advocate. Beth K says she has not seen Jodi or the defense team.

I know the defense is going to try and save Jodi's life, but if she says she wants to die rather than spend the rest of her life in prison, I don't see how the defense will be able to stop that.

I'm sure Jodi doesn't want to die, but the jury will not hear anything about her still claiming to be innocent. I under stand she is asking for donations to be sent to (jodieariasisinnocent). Does this woman actually think she still stands a chance to be free?

I believe she is going to get the DP.

I suspect that by saying she wants the death penalty, she believes the jury won't give it to her.

We should know more about what way this is going tomorrow--if they continue with the aggravator 'cruelty' phase and the jury finds that aggravator existed, then we finally get to the death penalty. Or do you think they can skip the aggravator phase altogether if she is willing to stand up and 'beg' for the death penalty?

I don't know, but I think she has to continue through the trial phases whether she likes it or not.

She was just playing for sympathy when she said that she has 'no' mitigating factors--she has as many as anyone else. I think mitigating factors can be positive things that she has done--one I can think of is that she had no criminal record prior to her slaughtering Travis.

The thing for me with this woman is that she makes it hard to find mercy. Speaking only for myself, I can't find any. If I weaken and begin to feel some, she comes up with a new interview with more nasty remarks intended to hurt Travis' family.

Mr. Martinez can now play that last interview she did during the death phase. That is going to ruin any chance she ever had of a member of a death qualified jury finding mercy, imo.

But she did it to herself. This one just doesn't know when to stop.

Same here. The minute I start to think that maybe she is nuts or something she pops up with another kick to Travis and his family. She just can't get past the fact that she is paying for what she did and she wants to continue to hurt Travis any which way she can, it's like she getting even with him for her killing him. And the only way she can do that now is by making Travis look real bad and his family having to deal with her statements. Then I no longer feel any empathy towards her.

Earlier I had problems with opening pages and it's happening again. It's taking very long to open a page. Is it me or anyone else experiencing this?

I have had the same problem as well.

did Jodi stalk or become obsessed with any of her other ex boyfriends? If not, what caused her to become so obsessed with Travis and not the others? Did he have the most potential out of all the boyfriends she ever had??

I believe Jodi exhibited considerable stalking behavior during the course of her 'dating' history.

Besides that, her greater obsession with Travis could have been due to her age progression--in her damaged mind she decided she wanted children and was looking for good husband material.

IMO, she found him, then she slaughtered him. Now she has to pay the piper.

But how long can they ask the jury to remain 'on call,' and not watch TV or read their newspapers? They can't postpone much longer, I'm feeling this has to complete soon.

Moments ago, the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office received an order from the Superior Court of Arizona and Honorable Judge Sherry Stephens that from today, prohibits Sheriff’s Office officials from approaching defendant Jodi Arias for the purposes of media interview requests.

We will not attempt to contact Arias for purposes of media interviews until that order is lifted by the court.

Once the court lifts the order, and if inmate Arias agrees to do interviews, all interested media parties will be notified immediately by Sheriff’s PIO via email. Interviews will be conducted thereafter in the order already received.

Mystery Arias hearing held?

HLN producers spotted Arias mitigation specialist Maria Delarosa entering the courtroom Tuesday afternoon. They also saw prosecutor Juan Martinez, Mesa police Det. Esteban Flores, and Travis Alexander's sibling Samantha Alexander exit the courtroom after the hearing was finished.

It is not clear what the hearing was about, and it seems for now the public will not find out. A representative for the Maricopa County Sheriff's Department told HLN as she was exiting that she was under orders to not reveal what went on in the hearing.

The aggravation phase of Arias' trial is scheduled to begin Wednesday.

During this phase, the prosecution will have a chance to present additional evidence in an attempt to prove Alexander’s death was caused in a cruel manner. Arizona law defines "cruel manner" as when a victim suffered physical pain or mental anguish and the defendant knew, or should have known, that the victim would suffer.

Martinez is expected to call medical examiner Dr. Kevin Horn back to the stand Wednesday to testify about how Alexander suffered before he died.

After both sides present evidence on the issue of cruelty, the jury will deliberate for a second time to determine if the aggravating factor of cruelty is proven beyond a reasonable doubt.

If the jury decides cruelty is proven beyond a reasonable doubt, the case moves to the sentencing phase.

Oh, I really love that photo. It's very appropriate. Jodi Arias is not crazy. Crazy people don't care about putting on make-up. They don't care about flirting with any male who comes their way, or should I say penis? They don't care about the constant need for attention. Jodi Arias is just plain demonic, evil inside & out. She thoroughly enjoys hurting people. She has more than proven that by the brutal, savage, vicious & heinous way in which she "slaughtered" Travis Alexander. She continues to prove how evil she is every time she opens her mouth. Her continued efforts to further destroy Travis & his family show even more reason why she deserves the Death Penalty. It is the only way there will finally be justice for Travis & his family. The media is to blame for making her into a celebrity of sorts, if that's what you want to call it. They are actually rewarding her for her actions by seeking interviews with her. Their own real interest is in boosting their ratings. In my opinion, that makes them immoral. Juanderful....I too felt it would be denied. It is a right for the victim to face their murderess of their loved one. The coward just didn't want it done face to face...She needs to hear it in the flesh..Is it wrong of me to say, I CAN'T WAIT!

That frenzied slaughter of Travis was due to his breaking off with her, not feeling her as wife material and she saw this as the reason to slaughter him? He used her? Or did she use him? She felt he was on the rise, his company was doing well. She felt slighted that he was adamant to not taking her to Cancun..that is the driving force behind her madness..

I believe this is they year for justice to be served...this is the first rung of many to follow.

Ernest Hoskins Jr, will be next, followed by GZ, then Shaniya Davis' offender and finally the three ladies out of Cleveland..

She isn't insane crazy, just BPD crazy, psychopath crazy but not insane. She knew right from wrong or she wouldn't have tried to cover up her slaughter by cleaning up the crime scene or go on the lam for a month. Her actions after the fact are those of a dumb criminal trying hard not to be arrested..

Huge fail on her part, she left a lot of her own DNA at the scene. Her story of the ninja's seem to be her, as she claims Travis wouldn't die. Travis screamed.

Travis was crawling away from her trying to get out of the bathroom. She slit his throat a couple of feet from the doorway leading out of the bathroom.

She is very deserving of the DP but I think LWOP will do more justice. She'd have to live in one place, she'd be forced to live with herself. She'd have to see her face grow old with wrinkles, white hair, sagging ass, cellulite..
