No - they may be receiving something from the Victim's fund, but it is mere pennies compared to what it is costing them as well as losing their wages. They will be able to file a victim's impact statement that also includes their costs - including the funeral for Travis - their travel expenses and lost wages. Then Jodi will work for .43 per hour to pay them back each month - unless she is put on death row - and then she won't be working.

Re: Jodi Arias #4
I was talking about the witnesses there to speak for Jodi.....are they being paid out of a defense fund? Or are they coolin their heels at their own expense due to the delay?

If they are like California and Washington, they are only getting their statutory witness fees which is around the neighborhood of $35-45 per day. If they are expert witnesses, that is an entirely different story - but if they are just lay witnesses, they are only entitled to the statutory fee. Doesn't go very far if you are having to stay in a hotel, etc.

I agree. But at this point, i'm just so glad that she was found guilty of first degree that I don't care one way or the other. Jodi knows she will never be a free woman. It may take years for the DP but she is incarcerated in one room, she wont want to look in the mirror, because she is going to look like hell. She knows her life is over and she showed the stress when she heard that verdict. Look at what she looks like in only a couple of days of knowing, wait for a couple of years. . I wonder if she will ask to fix herself up before execution?

Re: Jodi Arias #4
The media is trying to figure out if Jodi's tears were real in court yesterday. Of course they were real, she can very easily make herself cry, all she has to think about is that "guilty" verdict and the tears will come for herself and what in her future.
Jodi does not feel one ounce of sorrow for what she did to Travis. But she darn well knows that her life is over.
I believe that her mother wanted to get on the stand, but she was probably advised against it because of of the mitigating factors is that Jodi had no support from her family, therefore if her mother was to get up there and beg for her daughters life it will screw up one of the mitigating (and they don't have much to begin with).

Re: Jodi Arias #4
Good morning
Another postponement...surely the never ending trial. This judge doesn't have any compassion for respect for those jurors, who's lives have been on hold for over 5 months...
Listening to Jinx on HLN yesterday, Jodie's childhood friend, Patti Womack did not want her face shown on TV, now it appears, she is not going to testify..
Darryl Brewer who objected to his face being shown while testifying, is now okay with his face being shown. Wonder why the change of heart?
It appears her mother will not testify on Jodi's behalf...unless things change by Monday.
I also heard that Jodi will speak of her art work (traced art work of others) and how she will sell them and give all proceeds to DV victims. I think this should be nixed...if this is the only good example Jodi has to offer, they might want to waive this part of the trial and go right to sentencing..it's not going to bode well with those jurors..
I also took note that counsel for the defense, Nurmi's hearts not in this anymore and is just going through the motions. I noted from Willmott, when the victim impact statements and photos were being displayed, Willmott looked at them with disgust. Was it due to her believing that Jodi was a DV survivor of Travis or was it due to seeing now what a good hearted, compassionate man with a future was slaughtered beyond comprehension?
My heart just ached for Steven and Samantha and was unaware how this affected him and his personal life with his wife and child. I know all to well how someone can go on a downward spiral after the murder of a loved one. I had those same questions Steven did. What were my brother's last moments like? Did he suffer much? What was the last thing he saw and what went through his mind..I'll never get those answers either..
Samantha who is in LE said, she never in her 11 years on the force seen such a gruesome crime scene..it's etched in her mind forever...
My heart goes out to this family...

Re: Jodi Arias #4
lol....you guys have brought some crazy visuals to mind this morning. I can see Jodi at age 80, red lipstick bleeding into the wrinkles around her lips, heavy eyeliner, smeared mascara, looking like a clown...batting her eyes at the guards (hottie biscottis) who are there to escort her to the death chamber.
