See what is going to happen. I think charging M2 is a mistake and will bite the State's case as overcharging has done before such as the Boot Camp death in Florida a few years ago.
Is Wafer out on bail? I read he was but not sure. I understand that the Michigan State Police are the best.
This is the SYG law for Michigan.... I think I read he is out on $250,000. bail.

Looks good the way you got it....the victim IMO., deserves the recognition.

Analysis: Self-Defense Claim May be Legally Weak in Michigan Porch Shooting
Earlier this month, a man allegedly shot a woman through the front screen door of his porch when the woman knocked or banged on it after reportedly crashing her car nearby in suburban Detroit, Michigan. The case has since made news headlines.
I’ve been asked repeatedly to comment on the purported self-defense shooting by Theodore Wafer of Renisha McBride in Michigan, and now that the factual situation appears to have stabilized a bit it seems suitable fare for the Thanksgiving weekend.
Most of you will know that I was a vigorous supporter of George Zimmerman’s legal claim of self-defense in his shooting of Trayvon Martin. I also consider myself very much a member of the self-defense community, being an NRA instructor in personal protection (and other stuff) for ~20 years, a long-term competitor in the International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA# 13; to provide context, membership now exceeds 20,000), and someone who arms himself as a routine matter of personal protection.
That said, the facts as currently available to me, considered in the context of Michigan self-defense law, suggests that Theodore Wafer is going to have considerable difficulty in successfully advancing a claim that the shooting of Renisha McBride was in lawful self-defense.

Resident returns to court for preliminary hearing in McBride case
Hardly anything has been said by either side since Theodore Paul Wafter was charged with murder Nov. 15, but that should change a week from today.
Wafer, 54, is due in court next Wednesday for a preliminary examination of the evidence against him. He’s facing second-degree murder and manslaughter, as well as felony firearm charges, after the Nov. 2 death of Renisha McBride.

It looks to me that the gun discharged accidently. Bad things happen at 4AM.Is Wafer's defense going to be SYG? That would surprise me...

Dearborn Heights man to face murder trial for Renisha McBride porch killing
--snip--
"What did he do in this case, he brought a shotgun to the door," Turfe said. "He could have called for help, he could have run to another part of the house... He Chose to shoot rather than not answer the door.
"It suggests to this court the defendant made a bad choice when there were other reasonable opportunities."
~~~
Cheryl Carpenter, one of two attorneys defending Wafer -- the other is her father, Mack Carpenter -- says Wafer felt a reasonable threat, that McBride was "violently" slamming the front door, enough to dislodge the screen, and the Michigan Self-Defense Act gives homeowners the right to use deadly force if they fear great bodily harm, death or sexual assault.
Assistant Prosecutor Danielle Hagaman-Clark called that statement "ridiculous." She said if Wafer feared for his life, why wouldn't he first call 911 before opening the front door and opening fire with a pistol-grip, 12-gauge Mossberg shotgun from point-blank range.
"Shotguns are meant to kill," she said.
Shawn Kolonich, a firearms expert with the state police, said Wafer's 12-gauge, pistol-grip Mossberg shotgun with buckshot ammunition could not have accidentally discharged, based on hammer tests he performed on the weapon.
If someones beating my door I would let them know I was call the cops, and do it. At the time this happened anyone "pounding" on my door needs the cops (one way or the other)
'I was not going to cower:' Man who shot unarmed Michigan teen takes the stand
-snipped-
(CNN) -- A Michigan man accused of gunning down an unarmed young woman on his front porch took the stand in his own defense Monday. Theodore Wafer, 55, told jurors he feared for his life when loud banging on his front and kitchen doors startled him awake in the early morning hours of November 2, 2013.
Wafer is facing charges of second-degree murder and manslaughter for killing 19-year-old Renisha McBride, who prosecutors said was on Wafer's porch in Dearborn Heights seeking help after a car accident.
Re: Renisha McBride Discussion #1
Is that different than manslaughter? All the talking heads were saying not guilty of murder, but guilty of manslaughter. And do you know what the sentencing guidelines are. Sorry for being a pain. Got a new computer and trying to figure out how to use it.
OK, I just read the CNN article. But am more confused than ever. Guilty of 2nd degree AND manslaughter and possessing a firearm while committing a felony. Life in prison is possible. Good.
I was confused also how can he be guilty of both... Just as long as he is guilty of shooting Renisha I am happy
